Our end-of-year campaign under the theme #CANCERHEROES raised over $265,000 net to fund more innovative research into all types of cancer to better prevent, detect and treat this disease. Masterfully directed by Dr. Mark Basik, the Communion and Liberation choir offered a spellbinding performance, harmonizing Christmas carols and emotions, in aid of a most important cause: breast cancer research.

The 5th edition of the Accords Célestes evening organized to benefit the Cancer Research Society (CRS) in collaboration with La Céleste, was held on Tuesday, November 1st, 2022, and allowed us to raise a net total of $200,000, which will be dedicated to research projects to outsmart cancer.

Over 110,000 people are waiting for a colonoscopy in Quebec, 63% of which exceed the MSSS’ wait time norms. There has also been a 238% increase in the number of primary requisitions for untimely colonoscopies between August 2021 and the 2020 average. There is clearly a need to take action!

For a 27th year, the Cyclo-Golf Classic (cycling, golf and walking) presented by the Scotia Bank and BMO Insurance was held to benefit cancer research. The events which each attracted several sports enthusiasts, were held in 3 cities, namely Montreal, Sherbrooke and, for the first time, Quebec City. All participants raised funds, either independently or as part of a team, in the discipline of their choice.

Montreal, February 18, 2021 — The special partnership between musical group Kaïn and the Cancer Research Society (the Society) was the result of an initiative by the band which today released the video for the song “Cœur d’homme” (The Heart of a Man), a tribute to group member Éric Maheu’s brother who died of colon cancer last year. Funds raised following the video’s release will be directly donated to the Society to contribute to funding cancer research.
