$200,000 Raised Thanks to The Cyclo Golf Classic

For a 27th year, the Cyclo-Golf Classic (cycling, golf and walking) presented by the Scotia Bank and BMO Insurance was held to benefit cancer research. The events which each attracted several sports enthusiasts, were held in 3 cities, namely Montreal, Sherbrooke and, for the first time, Quebec City. All participants raised funds, either independently or as part of a team, in the discipline of their choice.

Montreal

Once again, this year the Cyclo-Golf Classic gathered resolutely passionate golfers and cyclists for a very active day. They chose to either undertake an 18-hole golf course or cycle from anywhere between 30 and 110km.

Sherbrooke

Strengthened by the success of its first 2 editions, close to one hundred participants enthusiastically raised funds individually or as part of a team. The funds raised were donated to the Cancer Research Society as well as to the Institut de Recherche sur le Cancer de l’Université de Sherbrooke (IRCUS).

Quebec City

Some sixty participants from Quebec City took part in the cyclo-walk for the very first time. Supported by the Centre de Recherche du CHU de Québec and Université Laval’s faculty of medicine, the event was a resounding success and promises to be a great success for years to come.

Together, the events raised a total of no less than $200,000 to benefit cancer research. The funds will be used to support some of the most promising research projects throughout Canada.

Over $4 Million for Cancer Research

The Society would like to highlight the incredible work undertaken by volunteer committees who organize these events year after year. It is indeed thanks to them and to all the generous participants, corporate sponsors and donors that over $4 million has been raised and completely dedicated to cancer research since the very first edition. Thank you so very much.
