$77,800 raised thanks to the 2022 Challenges

The Challenge program allows its participants to take up a challenge while raising funds for cancer research. These challenges take place in different places around the world and represent a real adventure for those who decide to take part.

This is a concrete way to contribute to the advancement of cancer research and to excel through various sports activities.

The Challenges that took place in the fall of 2022 were no exception! Three Challenges were held in Quebec allowing a total of 18 participants to raise a net amount of $77,800, which will allow us to support more cancer research projects.

We thank and warmly congratulate the participants and all the donors!

Chic-Chocs Mountains – Gaspésie

The Chic-Chocs (a Micmac word meaning “impenetrable barrier”) offer a most astonishing décor for fans of trekking. From September 5 to 10, 2022, our participants discovered these mountains as part of a grandiose landscape where woodland caribou and moose share the starring role during their hike.

Magdalen Islands

From September 17 to 24, 2022, the participants were able to follow the hiking trail through the Islands developed by Madelinot walkers in 2015 who had walked the paths of Compostela. During this challenge, walkers were able to take advantage of the beautiful landscapes and contemplate nature by the sea.

Hurricane Fiona took place while the participants were visiting the Islands. The safety of our participants is our priority, so it was essential for us to assure their safe return. However, the participants’ Challenge remains a success since they took up the challenge and raised funds that will be dedicated to research.

5 Peaks Hike – Charlevoix

From September 25 to 30, 2022, standing on Charlevoix’s highest mountaintops, the participants experienced the spectacular views on the surrounding landscapes, such as Malbaie River’s valley, the majestic Saint-Lawrence River, and mountains of the region. They succeeded to climb 5 summits in 5 days of trekking, with challenging climbs of up to 1,000 meters on a total route of 70 kilometers.
