October 15, 2017
70 outstanding researchers from coast to coast have been chosen to receive grants from the Society
Thanks to the generosity of donors and partners, the Cancer Research Society recently awarded $8.4 million in research grants to 70 of Canada’s top cancer researchers that will allow them to pursue their life-saving work. Of the hundreds of applications received, the Society’s Peer Review Committees selected the very best to receive the two-year funding of $120,000
Grant recipients come from universities and research centers across the country. Their research focus is wide-ranging and includes studies of potential treatments of brain cancer with viruses, chromosomal instability in ovarian cancer, or the role of cholesterol metabolites in the development of liver cancer. Their research will bring a better understanding of the disease and allow to gain ground on several fronts with regards to how we prevent, detect and treat cancer.
Our congratulations to recipients and our warmest thanks to donors and partners!
