Over $25,000 net raised on World Cancer Day
Cancer research saves lives! For World Cancer Day, which takes place each year on February 4th, thank you for joining the Cancer Research Society (CRS) in its efforts to halt the progression of this disease which is the leading cause of death in Canada. This digital initiative ran from February 1 to 6, 2024, and raised over $25,000 net. This amount will be invested in research to better prevent, detect and treat all types of cancer.
It is estimated that around 45% of Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, and that one in four will die from it. Fortunately, we have the power to change these statistics, thanks to the invaluable support of our donors, year after year.
Research is key
”Now more than ever, it is crucial to invest in research to better understand the causes of cancer, develop early detection methods, more effective treatments and innovative prevention approaches.”
– Manon Pepin, President and Chief Executive Officer
”No matter how big or small, your donations make a difference every year. In 2023 alone, your generosity has allowed us to award more than $13 million in grants to support 225 research projects.”
– Dajan O’Donnell, Director of Scientific Affairs and Partnerships
