$205,000 Raised Thanks to The Classic!

For a 28th year, the Classic, presented by Scotiabank and BMO Insurance, took place in three cities in Quebec: Montreal, Sherbrooke and Quebec City. The formulas differ from one city to another, but the objective remains the same: to support cancer research.

This year’s events have in turn attracted many sports enthusiasts and allowed participants to raise funds, alone or as a team, in the discipline of their choice.

We are very grateful for their involvement and support!

Montreal

Once again, this year the Cyclo-Golf Classic gathered resolutely passionate golfers and cyclists for a very active day. They chose to either undertake an 18-hole golf course or cycle from anywhere between 30 and 110km on Thursday September 8, 2022.

Sherbrooke

Strengthened by the success of its first 3 editions, over a hundred participants enthusiastically completed their cycling/walking challenge, individually or as part of a team, on Friday, September 16. An total of $52,000 was raised by the participants and was shared between the Cancer Research Society and the Institut de Recherche sur le Cancer de l’Université de Sherbrooke (IRCUS), co-organizing partner of this classic.

Quebec City

The closing rally of the Classic cyclo-walk took place on Sunday, August 28, which took place virtually from May 1 to August 27. The Society is very proud and grateful for the support of the CHU Research Center and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Laval.

Together, the events raised a total of no less than $205,000 to benefit cancer research. The funds will be used to support some of the most promising research projects throughout Canada.

Over $5 Million for Cancer Research

The Society would like to highlight the incredible work undertaken by volunteer committees who organize these events year after year. It is indeed thanks to them and to all the generous participants, corporate sponsors and donors that over $5 million has been raised and completely dedicated to cancer research since the very first edition. Thank you so very much.

Thank you to the Scotia Bank, BMO Insurance, Pyrogenesis, MD Service Financial, Accord Financial, Addenda Capital, Bombardier, Borden Ladner Gervais, Groupe Geloso, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton, Sandalwood Management, Brigil, Groupe Lebel and Patrick Morin.
