20th Edition of the Saint-Lambert Games

The Cancer Research Society (the Society) and the members of the organizing committee are proud to announce the 20th edition of the Saint-Lambert Games. Participants are invited to complete their free registration for a challenge of their choice between June 1st and 30th benefitting cancer research either through a donation they make themselves, or by collecting money for the cause.

Since the 1st edition in 2002, the Saint-Lambert Games have welcomed participants of all ages for a day of outdoor Olympic-style friendly competition activities. This year’s goal is $10,000.

Alone, as a couple, or among friends or family, participants are once again invited to honour the tradition by taking part in the personal challenge of their choice in strict compliance with the current guidelines: walking, running, a bicycle ride, a “burpees/frog-jump” challenge, a half marathon or others.

“I am so proud that the Saint-Lambert Games will be held once again this year, marking its 20th consecutive year! Participants’ support for the cause, year after year, is just remarkable. We are confident that people will take part in large numbers again this year and that together we will continue to contribute to defeating cancer.”

– Dr. Volker Blank, Founder and member of the Organizing Committee

About the Saint-Lambert Games

The Saint-Lambert Games were created in 2002– some 20 years ago now– following the initiative by Dr. Volker Blank, the Senior Researcher at the Lady Davis Institute and McGill University professor. Having received his first research grant from the Society, he wanted to give back to the organization and support the cause.

With the help of his family and his neighbours, all of whom had young children, he launched the Saint-Lambert games: a neighbourhood activity that is open to everyone and encourages physical activity while supporting cancer research. Since then, over $102,000 have been raised for cancer research. The Society wants to underscore the remarkable work accomplished by Dr. Blank, the volunteers and the generous participants and donors.
