AUGUST 21, 2018

The 25th edition of the Cyclo-Golf Classic benefitting the Cancer Research Society was held on Thursday, August 16, at the Elm Ridge Country Club, and helped to raise $250,000 to support the most promising cancer research projects in Canada.

Over 200 golfers and cyclists were present for this special edition. “At Scotiabank, we believe in the importance of giving back to the community and being involved in important medi8cal and social causes, which Cancer Research Society represents,” declared Peter Clair, Honorary co-chair of the event and Montreal Market lead at Scotiabank. “At McKesson Canada, we believe every Canadian deserves to be healthier,” added Paula Keays, Honorary co-chair of the event and President of McKesson.

Aside from the golf and cycling courses, guests were able to participate in a range of activities including an exceptional auction and a draw, and concluded the day with a BBQ lunch. “It is a real success that makes us really proud,” says Max Fehlmann, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Cancer Research Society. “This 25th anniversary is more than a regular one. It is a tangible example of solidarity, commitment and perseverance, three qualities that are common to all the scientific discoveries of the last years and are essential when it comes to fighting cancer. We are grateful to every company, foundation and participant for supporting this great event and to those who will be with us for the coming years to help us fund the best research in Canada. Together, we will outsmart cancer!”

Since 25 years, the Cyclo-Golf Classic has helped raise 4 million dollars to support cancer research. The event attracted more than 3,300 golfers or cyclists and 559 volunteers offered their help. Over a 1,000 corporate partnerships and sponsorships were concluded since the first edition of the event.
