Journée de la Marche du Rêve sets a new record!

The volunteer organizing committee of La Journée de la Marche du Rêve is delighted to announce that the event surpassed its target again this year by raising more than $31,000 for cancer research, well above the $25,000 objective. The members of the committee include Liane and Viateur Beauregard, Sylvie Benca, Lise Bernier, Robert Dubé, Julie and Reine Duguay, Brégitte Foisy and Daniel Rousseau.

On July 30, 2022, participants in the 9th edition of the event enjoyed a marvelous day while supporting an eminently worthwhile cause. Seasonal campers, travelling campers and visitors just passing through the Camping Domaine du Rêve campground in Sainte-Angèle-de-Monnoir had a fun-filled day packed with activities, including a silent auction, a walk and a sky-lantern tribute to people with cancer, cancer survivors, and people who have died from cancer.

Proceeds will fund a research project

Since the first Journée de la Marche du Rêve in 2014, the event has been held every year and has raised a total of more than $125,000 for the Cancer Research Society. The members of the organizing committee, the volunteers, participants, donors and partners, including Camping Domaine du Rêve, can all be gratified by the impact of their involvement and support.

The Society is pleased to announce that this year’s proceeds will be used to fund a research project on brain cancer, to be selected in our next annual grant competition. The event will therefore provide a researcher with the financial support they need to work on beating brain cancer.

The entire Cancer Research Society team is grateful to everyone involved in organizing the Marche du Rêve for their dedication and their determination to raise money for advanced research, and we thank all the participants for their contribution.

“We are very proud of all that we have accomplished since the beginning of the Marche du Rêve. It has been a real team effort. Now a research project will be funded thanks to our work. Research is the key and we can all feel we have made a concrete contribution to outsmarting cancer.”
– Julie Duguay, member of the organizing committee
