First International Partnership for CRS

The Cancer Research Society (CRS) is proud to announce its first international partnership with the British charitable organization Worldwide Cancer Research (WCR). This collaboration aims to support fundamental and translational research projects in cancer prevention, diagnosis or treatment.

International funding for Canadian cancer research

One project led by researchers in Canada and selected in the 2024 WCR’s project Grant Round, will receive funding of up to $340,000 CAD over 3 years co-funded by both organizations.

“Our collaboration with Worldwide Cancer Research confirms the Cancer Research Society’s leadership in funding cancer research in Canada” says Dajan O’Donnell, PhD, Director of Scientific Affairs and Partnerships at the CRS. “By joining forces, we are pushing the boundaries and providing Canadian researchers with the opportunity to benefit from international investment, propelling their innovative ideas towards cancer research breakthroughs.”

“We are thrilled about our new partnership with the Cancer Research Society, which strengthens international collaborations to support groundbreaking cancer projects and potential new cures. By working together, we can make our funding go further and more quickly reach a point where no life is cut short by cancer” declares Dr Lynn Turner, Director of Research at Worldwide Cancer Research.
