The Magic of Christmas to Outsmart Breast Cancer
Once again, the holiday spirit transformed into an extraordinary wave of generosity during the Christmas Carols for Research event, held at Montreal’s Maison Alcan on December 9th, 2024. Warmly hosted by actress Marina Orsini, the evening was a record-breaking success, raising an impressive total of $177,000.
This achievement would not have been possible without the remarkable contributions of many individuals. Marina Orsini brought an air of elegance to the event, while the Communion and Liberation choir, masterfully led by Dr. Basik, delivered a captivating and emotional performance. A huge thank you to all the generous sponsors, donors, and participants whose invaluable support made this evening unforgettable! We also extend our thanks to the organizing committee and volunteers for their unwavering dedication to the unprecedented success of this event.
All funds raised will go directly to support the research of Dr. Mark Basik, surgical oncologist and director of the Cancer Genomics and Translational Research Laboratory at the Jewish General Hospital. His work focuses on developing more personalized treatments for patients with resistant breast cancers, paving the way for more effective and tailored therapeutic strategies. These advancements offer new hope to thousands of women and their families.
This evening powerfully demonstrated that solidarity, music, and research can come together to outsmart breast cancer.
