Dr. Don Morris Appointed as President of the Cancer Research Society’s Scientific Advisory Committee and Dr. Mark Basik as Member of the Board of Directors 

The Cancer Research Society (CRS) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Don Morris as President of its Scientific Advisory Committee.

Dr. Morris, currently the Medical Director of the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre, as well as Professor and Head of the Department of Oncology at the University of Calgary, brings exceptional leadership and expertise in cancer research. A dedicated member of the committee for three years, Dr. Morris will play a pivotal role in guiding our funding priorities and advancing cutting-edge cancer research.

The Scientific Advisory Committee serves as a cornerstone of CRS’s scientific initiatives. Comprising leading researchers from diverse backgrounds, the committee provides key insights that help address the evolving challenges of cancer research ensuring CRS remains at the forefront of funding impactful research and fostering strategic partnerships.

CRS also extends its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Mark Basik, who has completed his four-year tenure as President of the Committee. Dr. Basik’s leadership has been instrumental in driving CRS’s mission forward, enabling remarkable achievements in cancer research. CRS is delighted that Dr. Basik will continue his association with the organization as a member of the Board of Directors.
