Record Number of Next Generation of Scientists Awards in 2024
October 24, 2024 – The Cancer Research Society (CRS) has set a new record by granting an unprecedented number of Next Generation of Scientists Awards. Eight recipients have been selected as part of this unique program, demonstrating the CRS's ongoing commitment to the next generation of researchers.
This exceptional program aims to support postdoctoral fellows by facilitating their transition to a researcher position, with a total funding of $180,000 over three years. This support helps these young scientists navigate this crucial stage of their academic careers, allowing them to establish their own laboratory and research team in Canada, while launching innovative projects that advance cancer research.
“This unique program in Canada is a fundamental pillar of our mission. It paves the way for innovative discoveries that will transform the fight against cancer. By supporting young researchers, we are shaping a future where every breakthrough brings us closer to our goal: outsmarting cancer.” – Dajan O’Donnell, Director of Scientific Affairs and Partnerships at CRS
