21st edition of the Saint-Lambert Games

$11,000 for cancer research

The Cancer Research Society and the members of the Saint-Lambert Games organizing committee are pleased to announce that the 2022 edition raised more than $11,000 for cancer research. The total raised since the creation of the Games amounts to more than $130,000! This cumulative amount will be used to finance a research project on pediatric cancers.

Remember that since their 1st edition in 2002, the Saint-Lambert Games have welcomed participants of all ages for a day of friendly outdoor Olympic-type competition activities. Alone, as a couple, with friends or family, participants are invited to choose a personal challenge of their choice: a walk, a run, a cycling circuit, a half-marathon, or other.

“The Cancer Research Society would like to thank Dr. Volker Blank, the games organizing committee and all the volunteers and participants who made this event possible. Through your determination and generosity, you support cutting-edge cancer research in Canada year after year and make a difference in the lives of people with cancer.” Patricia Soulard, Events Manager for the Cancer Research Society.

The Society and the organizing committee wish to acknowledge the support of the partners, including LSR Gesdev, major partner of the event.

About the Saint-Lambert Games

The Saint-Lambert Games were created in 2002 – 20 years ago already – following the initiative of Dr. Volker Blank, senior researcher at the Lady Davis Institute and professor at McGill University. Having received his first research grant from the Society, he wanted to give back to the organization and support the cause. Thus, with the help of his family and neighbors who all had young children, he launched the Saint-Lambert Games: a neighborhood activity open to all aimed at encouraging physical activity while supporting research on cancer.
