A research fund or memorial fund can be established through a donation during the donor’s lifetime or through a testamentary gift. It allows an individual, family, or group to support a specific field of research continuously.
It is possible to donate to an existing fund or to create a new one.

Charlotte Légaré Memorial Fund
In April 2013, Charlotte Légaré passed away from pancreatic cancer. She was the beloved daughter of Laurette and the late Gaston Légaré, and the spouse of Pierre Dansereau. Her loss deeply touched everyone who knew her.
To honor her daughter’s memory, Madame Laurette Légaré established a memorial fund dedicated to pancreatic cancer research.
Douglas Brian Shapiro Memorial Fund
Douglas Brian Shapiro passed away from non-Hodgkin lymphoma after a long battle. A passionate golfer, his friends and family established an annual golf tournament and a memorial fund in Doug’s honor, aiming to increase support for non-Hodgkin lymphoma research.
Isaiah 40:31 Memorial Fund
In 2006, Michelle, Caitlyn, April, and Cassandra lost their mother, Sandy Joyce Passchier, to cancer. Since then, the four sisters have dedicated themselves to fundraising efforts to support cancer research.
Kathryn Jeanne Randle Memorial Fund
The Randle family created this fund in memory of their daughter, Kathryn Jeanne Randle, who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2004. The Kathryn Jeanne Randle Memorial Fund is dedicated to pancreatic cancer research.
Rina Primeau Memorial Fund
This memorial fund was created to perpetuate the memory of Mrs. Rina Primeau, who passed away from breast cancer, and to support research on the prevention and treatment of this type of cancer.
Rob Lutterman Memorial Fund
The Rob Lutterman Memorial Fund was created by the Lutterman family in memory of Mr. Rob Lutterman, who died from a pancreatic cancer at the age of 63. The fund aims to promote and finance pancreatic cancer research.
Vicki Woloschuk Memorial Fund
Vicki Woloschuk, renowned interior designer, was much loved by her friends and family. Diagnosed with colorectal cancer, she sadly passed away from the disease. Her husband, Vince Haight, decided to commemorate and celebrate her life by creating the Vicki Woloschuk Memorial Fund for colorectal cancer research.
Andy – Léna Chabot Research Fund
Andy Chabot, former President and CEO of the Cancer Research Society, is a cancer survivor. With his daughter Léna, he wishes to express his gratitude to the scientific community that saved his life, and to encourage young students to pursue a career in cancer research.
Benoit Gagnon Research Fund
This Research Fund is in honor of Mr. Benoit Gagnon, a generous donor to the Cancer Research Society, who passed away in 2015, just a few months after being diagnosed with a rare type of leukemia, T-cell prolymphocytic leukemia (T-PLL). The aim is thus to raise funds to contribute to advances in this type of lightning leukemia.
Daniel Primeau Research Fund
The Daniel Primeau Research Fund is dedicated to research on the prevention or treatment of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
Ganotec/Marc-André Pigeon Research Fund
When Marc-André Pigeon died from cancer, his friends and colleagues at Ganotec created a fund in his honor. This fund is dedicated to research on the prevention and treatment of pancreatic cancer.
Give for a cure Research Fund
This Research Fund unites researchers, employees and board members of the Cancer Research Society who wish to make an additional contribution to our mission.
Steven E. & Scott I. Drabin Research Fund
This Research Fund was created in 2000 to establish the causes and treatment for various types of cancer, such as T-cell-rich B-cell lymphoma and neuroendocrine tumors.
Fondation Bergeron-Jetté Fund
The Bergeron-Jetté Foundation Fund aims to advance science in cancer research. This research fund, established in 2014, has helped finance research projects on indolent non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, lung cancer and stomach cancer.
