Participants meet at Montréal-Trudeau Airport and depart for La Paz, Bolivia. Meals and overnight onboard the aircraft.

Arrival at La Paz Airport, where you will be met and transferred privately to your hotel. Rest time to acclimatize to the altitude, as the city of La Paz is located at approximately 3,650 metres above sea level. Overnight at the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. This day is dedicated to continued acclimatization to the altitude. Depart for a guided city tour (in French) on foot and by cable car. Discover the colonial center, the government district, and local markets, including the famous Witches’ Market. La Paz is a truly unique city, with its dramatic topography, blend of modern buildings and historic houses, and the coexistence of Aymara traditions with contemporary urban life. You’ll have lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, enjoy a short walk of approximately one hour in the Moon Valley with minimal elevation gain. Return to the hotel at the end of the day. Overnight at the hotel.

You will have breakfast at the hotel before departing from La Paz to Copacabana, a charming town located on the shores of Lake Titicaca. The journey includes a ferry crossing and passes through several traditional Aymara villages of the Altiplano. En route, you’ll stop at the archaeological site of Tiwanaku, the ancient capital of the Tiwanaku civilization. Situated at over 3,800 metres above sea level, this civilization developed around Lake Titicaca and influenced a vast region that now spans Bolivia and northern Chile. You’ll visit the site and museum (approximately 1.5 hours). In the evening, enjoy a short hike of about 1 hour to Mount Calvario to admire the sunset over Lake Titicaca. Overnight at the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for the port of Copacabana for a full-day cruise on Lake Titicaca. The day is dedicated to discovering the Island of the Sun, a mythical 14.3 km² island inhabited by approximately 2,000 people and home to more than 80 documented ruins. The two main highlights of the island are La Roca Sagrada and the Chinkana (labyrinth). After lunch, sail to Isla de la Luna and visit the Inakuyu temple, dedicated to Inti, the sun god. Return by boat to Copacabana and overnight at your hotel.

Distance: 8 km / Approximate walking time: 3 hours / Elevation: +287 m, -287 m.

You will have breakfast at the hotel before departing for the starting point of the trek. From Copacabana, you will travel along the length of the Royal Cordillera, passing the majestic Huayna Potosí before reaching the village of Laguna Tuni. You will then arrive at the Condoriri massif, known as “the condor in flight.” You will meet your mule team and enjoy lunch at Campo de Llamas. Upon leaving this site, you will hike to Chiar Khota Lagoon (4,650 m), located at the foot of the Condoriri massif. You will set up camp, followed by an observation walk of the surrounding peaks: Aguja Negra (5,290 m), Illusion (5,330 m), Pirámide Blanca (5,230 m), and Pequeño Alpamayo (5,330 m). The campsite will be surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Overnight in tents.

You will have breakfast at the campsite, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the mountain peaks all around you—a truly magical moment. This day will be determined by your guide based on your abilities. Several hiking and exploration options will be available depending on conditions, including reaching glaciers and trekking up to 5,000 m. In the morning, you will hike the surrounding highlands with your guide and return to camp for lunch. In the afternoon, you will trek toward the Livinosa Valley and set up camp by the lagoon of the same name. Overnight in tents.

Distance: 12 km / Approximate walking time: 7 hours / Elevation: +/-350 m.

Early morning near the glaciers. After breakfast, you will hike to the vehicle pick-up point at Chacapampa (3,800 m). Stop for lunch and then transfer to the Huayna Potosí base camp, located at 4,700 m above sea level. Overnight in a refuge to continue acclimatization.

Distance: 7 km / Approximate walking time: 4.5 hours / Elevation: +120 m.

You will leave your first base camp and head toward the second base camp. You will continue to approximately 5,250 metres in altitude to reach the highest point of your adventure: a fairly steep ascent of about 3 hours at a slow pace due to the altitude. You will descend to the first base camp refuge for lunch, then transfer to your hotel in La Paz. Overnight in a hotel.

Distance: 6 km / Approximate walking time: 4.5 hours / Elevation: +550 m, -650 m.

Early departure from La Paz by 4×4 to La Cumbre Pass (4,700 m), the starting point of a legendary 88 km mountain bike descent to the edge of the Amazon. You will travel through spectacular landscapes, transitioning from icy Andean peaks to lush tropical forest. The first section, on paved road, offers an easy descent with impressive panoramic views. It then continues onto the former “Death Road,” a dramatic cliffside route that is now nearly traffic-free, where the atmosphere becomes increasingly warm and tropical as you descend. This experience is suitable for beginners who are comfortable cycling, and several options will be available depending on your ability and the group’s preference : ride only part of the route, combine cycling and hiking, or opt for a trek in the cloud forest to admire one of Bolivia’s most spectacular landscapes to fully experience the grandeur of the Andes. Once you reach the bottom, you will drive back up to the village of Coroico in time for your meal. You will then return to La Paz and spend the night at the hotel.

You will depart for the airport by private transfer, according to your flight schedule. You will arrive in Montreal in the evening or the following day.
