International partnership with Worldwide Cancer Research

Research priorities

The Cancer Research Society is proud to announce its first international partnership with UK charity Worldwide Cancer Research (WCR). This collaboration aims to support exploratory and translational research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

If a Canadian cancer research project is selected in WCR’s 2024 grants competition, it will be eligible for co-funding from our two organizations.

*Multidisciplinary projects, or those that transcend disciplines and foster innovation, are encouraged.

Program information

Eligibility
The principal investigator must hold a research position at a Canadian institution and be able to hold research funds at his or her institution.
Budget
The grant is worth £200,000 ($340,000 CAD) over a 3-year period.
Application process
Grant applications must comply with the guidelines issued by Worldwide Cancer Research.

This unique partnership enables Canadian researchers to benefit from international investment, propelling innovative and promising research projects towards the scientific breakthroughs needed to outsmart cancer.
