Cyclo-walk Classic 2024

This circuit is dedicated to families with children over 12 years old accustomed to doing 21 km bike rides. After the word of welcome and the communication of safety instructions, which will be given at IRCUS, participants will be invited to use their cars to transport their bikes to the Center Julien Ducharme in the borough of Fleurimont. This route will start in the parking lot at the Julien Ducharme Center. Participants will start their route by taking the bike path directly to get to the refreshment point on the Bishop’s University campus, and then return to the Julien Ducharme Center. This safe departure will avoid traffic on Chemin Duplessis. This linear route will also give the option to those who wish to retrace their steps without having to go to Bishop’s University. After completing the route, participants are invited to return to IRCUS, by car, to participate to a BBQ.

This course will start at the IRCUS. After the word of welcome and the communication of safety instructions, participants will take Chemin Duplessis with their bikes to get to the Julien Ducharme Center from where they will use the bike path to get to the refreshment point on the Bishop’s University campus, then return to the IRCUS to participate in the BBQ.

This course will start at the IRCUS. It is for those who want to take on a greater challenge and can maintain an average speed of 20 km/h. A “road” or “hybrid” type bike equipped with a white light in the front and a flashing red in the back is recommended, as the cyclists will mainly ride on the road. After the word of welcome and the communication of safety instructions, the participants will use their bikes to go on Route 216 towards Stoke to the 3rd Rang which leads to Talbot road. Turning to the left, the latter becomes the path to the Sanctuary. Cyclists will ride to Boulevard St-François, which they will take towards the downtown. At the end of this boulevard, Jean-Maurice street will be used to reach rue Bowen. Right turn on Bowen then a few pedal strokes to St-Francis Street which will bring cyclists to the refreshment point on the Bishop’s University campus. Cyclists will return to the IRCUS by following the reverse route. After completing the course, participants are invited to the BBQ to be held at the IRCUS.

This course will start at the IRCUS. It is for more athletic cyclists who can maintain an average speed of 25 km/h. A “road” type bike equipped with a white light in the front and a flashing red in the back is required. Participants will take Route 216 to get to Rang 4 from where they will take chemin Notre-Dame-Des-Mères to St-François boulevard. At the end of this boulevard, Jean-Maurice street will be used to reach rue Bowen. Right turn on Bowen then a few pedal strokes to St-Francis Street which will bring cyclists to the refreshment point on the Bishop’s University campus. The return will be via St-Francis street then Bowen street and St-François boulevard to chemin du Sanctuaire. The latter will become chemin Talbot which will take cyclists to the 3rd Rang which leads to route 216. Turn right and return to the starting point. After completing the course, participants are invited to the BBQ to be held at the IRCUS. Don’t worry, there will be burgers left!
