Participants meet at Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport in Montreal. Registration assistance followed by your flight to Bodø, Norway.

Arrival at the end of the day, transfer to the Auberge. Depending on your arrival time, perhaps you can explore Bodø town, the northernmost point of the stunning Kystriksveien Coastal Route.

Village Å is located at the far end of Moskenesoy Island, it is connected to the rest of the archipelago by highway, known as King Olav’s Road, which ends there. Further south, there are no roads and boats are necessary to travel through the mountainous terrain. Leaving the village of Å, you head towards the lake surrounded by steep peaks and waterfalls and only a short distance from the open sea.

Today we summit one of the most iconic peaks of the archipelago Get ready for extraordinary views of the dramatic Lofoten islands. This hike is the most ‘alpine’ of our island journey and brings us closer by the wild landscapes and high mountain atmosphere where you’ll encounter superb views of glacial lakes, valleys and surrounding fjords. Upon arrival at the Dupfjorden Pass and on your descent from the crests of Kolfjellet where you may encounter fishing eagles that nest in the vacinity. Sample the famous “multebaer”, the arctic berry that carpets the ground in summer.

After a short transfer to Queen City, Reine, the « Venise of Lofoten », you will cross the Kirkefjord Fjord by boat, from where we begin our day of walking in the heart of wild landscapes and steep cliffs, completely isolated from the rest of the world. A hike where ocean, mountains and fjords are omnipresent. We join Reine at the end of the day and take the time to visit this emblematic village of the Lofotens Islands

Elevation + 520m, – 520m Distance: 4.6 km. / Approx. 4hrs.

Depart Munkebu Refuge for Kvalvika Beach. After a short transfer, you will climb a pass that offers a unique, panoramic view of the Selfjord and separates you from the fabled beach below. The descent provides a spectacular view of Kvalvika Beach often referred to as whale beach. . It’s the isolation from the rest of the islands that make this beach so special. Up until the 19th century, this area was inhabited by a small group of whale fishermen. Today, only a few ruins of the village and whale bones remain scattered on the moor. This site impresses both by its isolation and the black granite cliffs that surround it. At the end of the day, we head to a rustic wooden shelter which is usually reserved for locals. The refuge is in a truly exceptional setting above Selfjord with splendid panoramas of the ocean and the surrounding peaks.

Depart for the isolated fishing hamlet of Mustoa and its charming beach on the ocean. Travelling along the old trail, past the moorland and white sandy beaches that link the hamlet to the pastures of Yttersand with its peat houses. In addition to the many sheep that populate this path, numerous sea birds, including the famous sea eagle nest in the region. In the afternoon, you will head to the mountain crests overlooking Yttersand Beach.

Elevation + 350m, -250m Distance: 11.6 km / Approx. 4hrs.

Today your hike takes you on a trail that offers a magnificent view of the village of Nusfjord, the Vestfjord coast and the Nappstraumen. Along the way, you will pass several lakes, which during the summer seem almost inviting. Return to Bodø via ferry at the end of the day.

Transfer to Bodø airport then fly to Oslo. Enjoy the rest of the day in Oslo at leisure. All transfers today are by public transit.
