Together, Toward a Cure
“The only thing that can save lives is research, especially the lives of children, like my son’s.”
Georges
Georges has proudly supported the Cancer Research Society (CRS) since 2004. In the spring of 2025, he learned of his son’s cancer diagnosis; his son was 13 years old at the time.
Following ankle pain and numerous medical examinations, the diagnosis was confirmed: his teenager had a rare form of cancer: clear cell sarcoma.
Georges highlights the essential role of the CRS in funding innovative research projects that have saved, and will continue to save, lives and restore hope to thousands of people affected by the disease. Thanks to advances in research, many treatments are now available, and his son was able to benefit from them.
“Before his surgery, radiotherapy treatments led to very positive results: the tumor had significantly shrunk, and his overall condition had improved. Despite the discovery of new cancer cells in the knee and hip, which were also treated with radiotherapy, he is now receiving immunotherapy as well as targeted therapy.”
Research Saves Lives
Georges admits that he never felt alone throughout this journey. He was able to rely on the support of medical staff, teachers, and several organizations. This support meant a great deal to them and played a vital role throughout their journey, providing comfort and determination. He wants to remind donors that every contribution counts and that we must not hesitate to support research to better prevent, detect, and treat the disease.
“Cancer research is essential because it saves lives and leads to discoveries every day. When a child is affected by the disease, the journey is intense for the entire family, but my son was able to receive care quickly, and very recently, we learned that there is no longer any trace of cancer.”
Your story
Every experience counts. Whether you have been affected by cancer directly or indirectly, your story can offer comfort, inspire hope, and strengthen the sense of solidarity among those going through a similar challenge.
