Christmas Carols to Outsmart Breast Cancer
December 9, 2025 – Embraced by the magic of the holidays, the Christmas Carols for Research event, held on December 8, inspired a wonderful wave of hope and generosity, raising a record amount of $201,000 for breast cancer research. Warmly hosted by Marina Orsini, the evening took place at Montreal’s Maison Alcan and brought together nearly 300 attendees.
Under the direction of Dr. Mark Basik, surgical oncologist and director of the Cancer Genomics and Translational Research Laboratory at the Jewish General Hospital, the Communion and Liberation choir delivered a deeply moving and memorable performance.
All funds raised during this exceptional evening will be entirely dedicated to Dr. Basik’s research, which aims to provide better-tailored treatments for patients with treatment-resistant breast cancer. These research projects point toward more effective, personalized therapeutic approaches and provide a meaningful source of hope for thousands of patients and their loved ones.
This remarkable achievement would not have been possible without the generosity of our sponsors, donors, and participants. We are deeply grateful for the involvement of our organizing committee and our volunteers, and we thank them for their commitment and dedication, which made this success unforgettable.
