Past competition : DECRYPT

The DECRYPT grant was awarded to 1 research project on pediatric embryonal brain tumors.

Research priorities

Embryonal brain tumors are the most common malignant brain cancers in young children, with 60% of them being rare and highly aggressive. Unfortunately, most children diagnosed with brain cancer either do not survive the disease or experience permanent impairments, resulting from the combination of aggressive treatments.

The DECRYPT (Defeating Embryonal Cancer in Young People Together) grant aims to support 1 research project designed to have a direct and positive impact for affected children. The project should enable pilot data to be collected with a view to setting up a larger-scale clinical trial.

*This grant is made possible by the collaboration of 7 organizations: Kindred Foundation, The Cancer Research Society, Phoebe Rose Rocks Foundation, Canadian Brain Tumour Foundation, Miracle Marnie Foundation, Canadian Childhood Cancer Foundation and Tali’s Fund.
