The Challenge Against Cancer Program offers its participants the chance to support cancer research while discovering the world and surpassing themselves through a variety of sporting activities.

This unique adventure takes on a very special meaning, as the funds raised by participants help to make a significant difference to the advancement of cancer research.

Trek on the Amalfi Coast

Discover a mystical archipelago in the Gulf of Naples. This 9-day challenge takes place in a region celebrated for its beauty and history. On an azure natural canvas, the Neapolitan Archipelago, which is comprised of a group of five islands, offers an unmatched spectacle of beauty for the eyes. A challenge filled with beauty and history awaits you.

YOUR JOURNEY

Day 1: MONTREAL – NAPLES
Participants meet at Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport in Montreal. Registration assistance and check-in followed by your flight to Naples.

Dinner and breakfast served on overnight flight.
Day 2: Naples
Arrival at Naples airport. Welcome by a local guide, then transfer to the hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure. Dinner at the hotel or in a local restaurant.

Day 3: NAPLES – CAPRI – NAPLES
Day devoted to the discovery of Capri. Embark on a 40 min. boat trip to reach this small island surrounded by turquoise waters. By way of a scenic path, you will discover the picturesque villas and flower fragrant gardens of the island, the natural arch pierced in the cliffside as a result of erosion, or the Matermania cave.

Back to Naples at mid-day, then visit the historic district of Naples: Meander in the Spacca Napoli district, discover Toledo Avenue and the Umberto I gallery, stroll in Plebiscite square.

Elevation: + 300m, – 300m / Distance: 13 km to Capri and 9 km to Naples / Approximate duration: 7hr.
Day 4: NAPLES – VESUVIUS – POMPÉI – AGEROLA
Depart Naples for Vesuvius (30 min transfer), then climb to the top of the crater, the “GranCono” where you can admire the breathtaking panorama of Naples Bay. Continue on to Pompeii and visit grand, striking site. Discover the ruins of at the foot of Vesuvious, the sleeping city, it’s temples, theaters, baths, houses … Then depart to the Amalfi Coast and the village of Agerola. 4 nights’ accommodation in Auberge.

Elevation : + 200m, – 200m / Distance: 10 to 15 km / Approximate duration: 6hr.
Day 5: AGEROLA – MONTI LATTARI – TRE CALLI – AGEROLA
Today, you’ll enjoy a scenic ride on the Monti Lattari ridge with an elevation of 1444m. From Agerola, you will climb Mount TreCalli and its ridges offering a spectacular view above the Amalfi Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Along the way, admire the breathtaking panorama of the Sorrentine Peninsula.

Elevation : + 540m, – 540m / Distance: 15.5 km / Approximate duration: 6hr.
Day 6: AGEROLA – AMALFI – AGEROLA
Along the hike from Agerola, you will descend to Amalfi, in a spectacular setting. Pass under the peaks of Murillo and Ciavanoen, all the while following a ridge path above Pogerola. Then begin the descent to Amalfi, nestled at the bottom of its cove. Afternoon at leisure in Amalfi; stroll in the streets or relax on the beach of this charming small coastal town. Return by bus to Agerola (50 min).

Elevation : + 100m – 750m / Distance: 15.5 km / Approximate duration: 5hr.
Day 7: AGEROLA – RAVELLO – ATRANI – AMALFI – AGEROLA
Transfer by bus to Amalfi (35 min), ascend the “Valley Delle Ferriere”, a deep, lush valley, crossed by a torrent of crystal clear water, spectacular waterfalls, ancient water mills and ironworks. Then on to Ravello, perched on a hilltop more than 365 meters above the Mediterranean and far removed from the crowds that flock to the sea towns of Amalfi and Positano, Ravello is the hidden treasure of the Amalfi Coast. Discover this picturesque city with visits of the Villa Cimbroneet and Villa Rufolo. The trek continues on to Atrani, a fishing village clinging to the cliff face, directly above the sea, at the mouth of the Valle del Dragone, Atrani is the smallest town in the whole of Southern Italy and ends in Amalfi, where we reconnect with the mini-bus and return to Agerola (30 min).

Elevation : + 550m, – 550m / Distance: 16 km / Approximate duration: 6h
Jour 8 : AGEROLA – POSITANO – AMALFI – AGEROLA
After a short bus transfer, you will begin your hike on the “Path of the Gods”, former mule track in balcony connecting the trays of Agerola to the village of Positano. You will reach Positano where a stroll and swimming will be at the rendez-vous in this ancient village of sinners. Depending on the sea conditions, you will take the boat or bus to Amalfi and then the bus back to Agerola.

Day 9: NAPLES – MONTREAL
Transfer to Naples airport and fly to Montreal.
